ABOUT TALES OF MFR
The war between monkeys and robots has raged on for eons; these are the stories that have survived.
The book is written by Jamie Jones and Matthew Sardo, with artwork by Jones. Tales of MFR: The Complete Collection is formatted at 8.5" x 5.5" and collects the 104 comic strips at a 1:1 ratio of the original art. Check out Jamie's Instagram account for more of his work (@artofjamiejones).
THE STORY BEHIND THE BOOK
The stars aligned when artist Jamie Jones moved across the street from me, writer Matthew Sardo. We were both looking to start a comic strip and had similar ideas on what made a great strip. A fast-paced, action-packed book that left you on the edge of your seat, excited to turn the page. Tales of Monkeys Fighting Robots is a unique mashup of Jamie's love of the pulp stories of the 40s and 50s and Matt's admiration of sci-fi/adventure cartoons of the 70s and 80s.

ABOUT THE CREATORS
Jamie Jones is a cartoonist and illustrator living in Savannah, GA. Previous works include Quarter Killer with writers Danny Lore and Vita Ayala (Comixology Originals), Kicking Ice written by Stephanie Phillips (Ominous Press,) and Tales of MFR with Matt Sardo (monkeysfightingrobots.com). He is the current can illustrator for 81 Bay Brewing Co. in Tampa, FL. Alongside his freelance work, Jamie has been self-publishing his pulp action-adventure comic, The Baboon, under his Bow Tie Press imprint; running several successful Kickstarters.
Matthew Sardo has been part of the comic book community since the early 90s working at comic shops and then running his own. The Comic Vault in Chicago was twice nominated for the Will Eisner Spirit of Comics Retailer Award. Since moving to Florida in 2012, Matt switched over to the world of journalism and then launched Monkeys Fighting Robots in 2015 to shine a brighter light on the world of comic books.
WHERE THE FUNDS WILL GO
The funds from this Kickstarter will be used for printing, shipping, and stretch goal rewards. If there are additional funds leftover, these funds will cover the costs associated with running monkeysfightingrobots.com
Thank you for taking the time to check out our campaign, and read more comics!
Risks and challenges
The book is 90% complete and we are in the home stretch with the final pages. Jamie Jones and I are professionals and will meet our deadlines to complete the project. I've learned a great deal from my four previous Kickstarters. I'm very prepared for any unforeseen bumps in the road, but I also have an impressive supporting cast of people that can step in and help in a pinch. I have worked with this printer before and have not been disappointed. The biggest thing is going to be filling all of those orders! As long as the USPS is running, we should be good to go.
