The origin of his latest project, THREE-HEADED-PIG-MAN, gave me a good laugh.
I got a commission a couple of years ago from somebody. It was a dealer's choice, and I was going, God, I don't know what the heck I'm gonna draw for this, said Anderson.
It's gonna be weird. Whatever it is. I draw weird stuff. I like to draw weird stuff. So I was talking to Jake Smith, ROBOWOLF. His book is out right now, Dark Horse, and he said, yeah, those are weird ones. The person never knows what they're gonna get. They could get like a three-headed-pig-man.
And I went, yep, that's right. That's what they're gonna get. They're gonna get a THREE-HEADED-PIG-MAN. So I went back and I drew a three-headed-pig-man. He didn't look just like this. He had more of a Porky Pig head. But other than that, it was pretty close.
Gave it to the person, they were over the moon. And I couldn't get this character outta my head because I was like, well, I've got this cartoon character, I've got like a Cable-esque body and regular pig head, and I've got this demonic boar skull. I could tell literally any story with this character.
I could do anything with this. And so that is sort of the premise of THREE-HEADED-PIG-MAN: it’s whatever the hell I want, and it is going to take some sharp left turns, that's for sure.
